Burglary Near You -Rhodesway

Dear Resident

You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Rhodesway, this occurred on Tuesday 3rd February between 1825hrs and 1835hrs and the method of attack was by snapping the cylinder lock allowing entry. 

ON DATE AND TIME STATED, SUSPECTS ATTEND LOCUS AND SNAP LOCKS ON ALL REAR DOORS. THE SUSPECT GAIN ENTRY AND INITIATE AN UNTIDY SEARCH OF UPSTAIRS BEDROOMS WHERE IT IS SUSPECTED THAT £25,000 WORTH OF ASIAN GOLD HAS BEEN STOLEN. THE SON OF THE HOMEOWNER HAS THEN GOT HOME AND INTERCEPTED SUSPECTS WHO HAVE HIT HIM NUMEROUS TIMES WITH A METAL BAR CAUSING SLIGHT CUT ON HAND AND SORE LEGS. THE SUSPECT THEN GET INTO A VEHICLE AND MAKE GOOD THEIR ESCAPE

Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between Tuesday 3rd February between 1825hrs and 1835hrs to check if you had any activations. 

Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock. 

Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police.
